It employs a revamped version of the gameplay system from the previous titles, with an action-oriented battle system and the capability to modify the outfits of the player. The game takes place in the fantasy world similar to previous titles and lets the player take on the role of the protagonist, explore the world from a third-person perspective and advance through the game to complete a set of missions. The story is set five hundred years after the ending of the previous.
