The game introduces immersive gameplay based on real-time historical events. It serves as the sequel to RTS game American Conquest, which is focused on the conquest of America by the Europeans from the natives. The main focus of the game is on the Civil War, and it introduces nine historical campaigns, as well as different, loses scenarios, lets the player replay the time of the battle. Like other RTS games, the player starts the game by gathering resources (gold, coal, grain, and wood), building a base, and creating powerful units to battle against opposing forces who are struggling to do the same. However, in campaign missions, the resource gathering and base building are sometimes left out in favor of maps that are focused on the playing field. Four playable nations are available such as the Union, the Confederacy, Texas, and Mexico. Each country has its specific units, but in appearance they are similar. With engaging gameplay, detailed graphics, and brilliant mechanics, American Conquest: Divided Nation is a good game to play.
