The game lets the player navigate the land from a third-person viewpoint and experience the story, revolving around the protagonist known Wolf. As compared to Souls video game series, the game introduces fewer RPG elements, lacking character development and the capability to level up a set of stats, as well as featuring no Multiplayer aspects. The setting of the game is set in the revised late sixteenth century Sengoku Period in Japan. However, the player puts himself in the role of the protagonist, a shinobi, who was left for dead after his master was kidnapped and his arm badly severed by a leading samurai. The player navigates the world from a third-person perspective, use his mighty sword to attack enemies and slay them to approach their bosses. Several challenging levels await the player, and he has an opportunity to rescue his master while battling against enemies.
