It is the 4th title in the series of Professor Layton game and serves as the prequel that is set 3-year before the event of the first trilogy, describing how the protagonist (Professor Layton) met his apprentice with the name Luke Triton and introducing the assistant named as Emmy Altava of Layton. The game comes with Role-playing elements, enabling the player interacts with Non-player characters from the series in the fictional town known as Little London. There are a variety of mini-games available, including Toy Train, Fish, Puppet Theatre, etc. that the player can enjoy while solving the mysteries.
