Identical to other series games, the player serves as a monster hunter whose task is to slay or trap the monsters in different places. The player can use skillful weapons, smart tools, and environmental objects to damage the giant beasts.

The quests’ successful completion provides loot from the monsters, which the hunter can use to forge new armor and weapons.
