Like the original release, the player needs to purchase properties, move across the board, struggling to make money and ruin the rivals to survive longer. The game introduces several features that you would expect of the game, including community chests and chances. Unlike the original title, the board of the game can be made to be a science-fiction, original, or prehistoric board. The player moves across the world from a top-down viewpoint, and his ultimate aim is to gather as much money as possible to purchase property and then compete against rivals to take down them to expand his empire further. Monopoly Party lets up to four players to play against each other and try to be the last after completing the objectives. In the game, several characters from the movies, including Shrek, Donkey, Fiona, Thelonius, and Lord Farquaad are available for the party. There are five different realms available from which the player can define his favorite one to start playing the game. Each realm comes with its unique set of mini-games and covers cool features four colored castles and characters. There are some team games also featured where the first player teams up with the third player and the second player with the fourth player.
