There are five massive monsters from the Godzilla universe, and the player can select one of them to jump into the game with an aim to destroy everything along the way. Each monster in the game has its unique skills, abilities, and playstyle. Other characters in the game are unlocked as the player advances through the game. The world where the game is set contained five cities, and each city comprises two stages, except the final Japanese city which has three stages. The ultimate task of the player is to advance to the next stage by smashing everything on the stage within a limited time like trees and buildings. Each character in the game is equipped with a projectile attack and has an ability to block incoming attacks.
