The game introduces three campaigns, taking place in ancient cultures such as the Ancient Egyptians, the Spartans, and the Ancient Persians. In the start, the player needs to control one of three campaigns with a different culture, and each campaign is split into several missions. In the game, the campaigns are independent of each another and can be played in any order. There are three unit types such as Light, Medium and Heavy. Light units are armed with light weapons and fast. The main job of the player is to build his empire, recruit armies and train them to defend his shelters from enemy attack and gather resources. The game is played from a top-down viewpoint, and the player can use a point-and-click interface to command his army. During the gameplay, the player can create siege weaponry, depending on what campaign the player is playing, such as siege tower, catapults, battering rams, and ballistae, as well as war animals such as elephants and camels.
